1920

Originally it was a fire committee, but moved to a fire department in 1920 with the purchase of a fire engine (type unknown), and then a chief was appointed .

The fire committee was primarily in charge of chimney inspections

Throughout the Years

The Murley’s have a firefighting history in Milton dating back to 1924

John “Yogi” Murley (former chief) is responsible for Milton-Washington Twp Fire Dept Affectionately being called “The Rapid Oxidation Suppression Technicians”

2024

In 2024 a new chief was selected and many new members were added to the roster. The implementation of new policies and training requirements began to form an even better department that is community orientated.
